My buddy Mike has an upstart record label called 1205 Records (coming soon). The label is based in Louisville, Kentucky and is mainly focused on innovative hip-hop, but really has no borders or restriction on genre. Mike has been a DJ for years and the man knows music. I wish him the best of luck in his endeavor and I'm sure he'll be promoting some great new artists.
One of his recent signees is iii(pronounced three). You can hear some of iii's pre-1205 tracks here. The track Louisville, Home of the Me hits home for me, talking about my old stomping grounds in the 'Ville. Mike says that a mid-west tour and a new album is in the works for iii and another 1205 artist named Bob Anonymous. Be on the lookout for these guys.
